As a second year Criminal Justice student at the prestigious Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University my eyes are constantly amazed by the pure greatness of such an illustrious university. FAMU, as students call it, has embraced society with pure excellence with caring. At FAMU not only can students find a specific field of study but they will find professors that are willing to go that extra mile to help you exceed standards. The students on campus are extremely friendly and helpfully. On any given occasion  a student can be stopped on their way to class, and even if they are already late they will still go out of their way to help you.

There are over  160 clubs and organizations that caters to each and every individual that walks the 420 acre university. Clubs such as the Miami club is a choice from many different other “city/state” clubs. Just about any club on campus is capable of making students feel at home while away from home. On campus there is so much more than just students dressed in orange and green. For example, our school of Journalism offer students a firsthand experience with journalism by producing the campus newspaper which is known as the FAMUN, the campus magazine which we call Journey, and of course our very own radio station,90.5  WANM “the flava station”. It doesn’t stop there, during a student’s tenure they are presented with many opportunities such as networking through  internships and career fairs that would lead to a future career.

As far as school spirit goes, our cheerleaders know how to rally everyone up and get students ready for and during a game. If the cheerleaders aren’t enough, our incomparable marching 100 band is more than enough to tame the crowd. I am extremely passionate about my university because I have experienced so much as a student in just two years that I anticipate my remaining 2. I love my FAMULY because together we are one, and as our university’s  president  would say, “ as the dark clouds gather over the horizon..rattlers would strike, strike, and strike again”!
